I managed to get the gauge right with the 2mm hook. Then tried it again in the 3mm, and it worked. Now I get to use my special new hook for the project. That makes me so happy. Who knew that it would take 5 tries to get the gauge the correct size. I believe this will be well worth the effort. Hopefully it means I won’t run out of yarn.
I like how all the special tips instructions and more advanced stitches are laid out on a single printable pdf. It’s great for those of us who are not advanced crocheters.
Following the instructions on the tips and tricks pdf I started on the first diamond of week one. The gauge sizes are listed for end of round 6 so I did the first 6 rounds with my yellow. Luckily it still works for me. Then as directed, i started with the other 5 colours doing each round in every colour before moving to the next round. That makes it so much easier to remember and have them all look the same.
While the stitches have been challenging so far, the instructions are very clear and easy to follow. It makes me want to do more by this designer. I’m loving the scheepjes yarn and think I will buy some for my next sock project.
That’s all for now. Back to the hook.
Happy Crocheting!
